Update for the 83rd Legislative Session

The 83rd Texas legislature's regular session has officially ended, and with it comes several appropriations that enable Texas A&M AgriLife to serve the State of Texas in new and innovative areas. Legislators diligently conferred on each of our budget requests, addressing issues such as water resource management, workforce improvement programs, volunteer fire department grants, and several others. On behalf of each agency, I’d like to thank our legislators for their time and consideration for our mission. In addition, I’d like to thank them for their attention to our people. This session, a 1% salary increase in FY14 for agency employees was appropriated and revisions to the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) benefit system were enacted.
